Members of Allegria, along with many other Adelaide choirs, enjoyed the amazing opportunity to sing with the Spooky Men’s Chorale when they were in Adelaide on 30 July 2023.

The Spookmeister (aka Stephen Taberner) invited choirs to a workshop on the afternoon of the performance in which he taught us two songs, which we then performed with the Spooky Men as part of their evening performance. The first was Stephen’s own work, “The Sweetest Kick in the Heart”, and the second was the Yothu Yindi song, “Treaty”. It was a fabulous experience.

Aside from our small contribution, the Spooky Men put on a remarkable performance of acapella singing, with songs ranging from Georgian and Ukrainian folk songs to an encore performance of “I wanna dance with somebody”, which had the audience dancing in the aisles.
